Our low-maintenance Composite Ranch Rail Fence never needs to be painted or stained. It may, however, need to be cleaned on occasion. Here’s how to clean and maintain your composite fence to keep it looking fresh for years to come.
How to clean your composite ranch rail fence
To keep your composite fence looking like new, periodically wash it with a mild soap/detergent and water. Be sure to test the cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area prior to applying it to the entire fence.
To remove dirt or grime
As with most exterior products, composite fence will get dirty with time. When this happens, simply spray the dirt or grime off with a garden hose or power-washer.
To remove stubborn stains
To remove stubborn stains, wash with soap and water and scrub stain with a soft cloth. As with the cleaner, we recommend testing the cloth in an inconspicuous area to make sure it doesn’t leave marks.
An important note on power-washing
We recommend starting your power-washer at a lower pressure setting and working your way up as needed. The pressure washing shouldn’t be used to “blast” dirt and grime from the fence surface. A power washer with a fan-tipped nozzle should be used only to lightly wet or rinse the fence surface.
