Most wood picnic tables have a standard set of dimensions for width, length, and height. Read on to learn the size of a typical adult picnic table.
What size is a picnic table?
The length of a picnic table for six adults is about six feet. This allows each adult 24 inches of personal space. Picnic tables designed for eight adults are typically eight feet long.
Picnic table height, from ground to tabletop, ranges from 28 to 32 inches. Benches are usually 17 to 18 inches off the ground. This offers 10 to 14 inches of space between the bench and tabletop. Enough room for the average adult to comfortably get in and out of the table.
The tabletop width ranges from 27 to 30 inches. At that width, you can fit six table settings along with drinks, condiments, and fixings. The entire width of the picnic table, from bench to bench, is around 60 inches.
