According to a survey of homeowners across the country, the top two reasons for installing a fence are:
#1: Privacy
#2: Keeping children/pets in yard
Which makes sense, as 86% of homeowners surveyed installed or plan to install either a Privacy or Semi-Privacy fence. Privacy and Semi-Privacy fence styles can function as both a visual barrier to allow for privacy, and a physical barrier to contain children and/or pets safely in the yard.
Other reasons homeowners listed include:
- Security/Safety
- Keeping people or animals out of the yard
- Blocking the view of neighboring properties
- Defining property lines
